Minimum Seed Count: 100

A round heirloom carrot dating back to 19th-century France. Unlike the long, tapered roots of most varieties, Parisian carrots form petite, globe-shaped roots with smooth orange skin and tender, crisp flesh. Their sweet, rich flavor makes them perfect for snacking fresh, roasting whole, or adding gourmet flair to dishes. Ideal for container growing and shallow or heavy soils where longer carrots struggle, Parisian proves both practical and delightful in any garden.

🌱 Planting Guide:

Soil Preparation:

  • Carrots thrive in loose, well-drained soil, but Parisian is especially forgiving.

  • Perfect for shallow beds, containers, or heavy/clay soils where long carrots struggle.

  • Ideal pH: 6.0–7.0.

Sowing Seeds:

  • Direct sow outdoors 2–4 weeks before the last spring frost.

  • Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, spaced about 1 inch apart in rows 12 inches apart.

  • Thin seedlings to 2 inches apart once established for best root development.

Care:

  • Keep soil consistently moist for even germination (can take 10–20 days).

  • Mulch lightly to conserve moisture and prevent soil crusting.

  • Avoid heavy nitrogen fertilizers, which encourage leafy tops over roots.

Sunlight:

  • Full sun (6–8 hours daily) for best yield, but tolerates partial shade.

Harvesting:

  • Ready in about 55–65 days.

  • Harvest when roots are about golf-ball sized and bright orange.

  • Best pulled gently from moist soil to avoid breakage.

Tips:

  • Succession sow every 2–3 weeks for a steady harvest.

  • Excellent for container gardens—just ensure at least 6 inches of soil depth.
