The Buena Mulata pepper is an heirloom cayenne-type variety known for its unusual color progression. The slender, slightly curved pods reach about 6 to 8 inches in length. They begin a rich purple, then gradually change through pinks and oranges before maturing to a deep red showcasing so many beautiful colors!
The peppers have a medium heat level, comparable to cayenne, with a touch of sweetness and light smokiness. Plants are bushy, productive, and ornamental, producing heavy yields throughout the season. Buena Mulata works well for fresh eating, drying, pickling, and adding vibrant color and flavor to sauces or salsas.
