Minimum Seed Count: 10

The Jarrahdale pumpkin is a rare heirloom from Australia, known for its blue-gray skin and deep orange, sweet flesh. Its round, slightly flattened fruits usually weigh 6–10 pounds and feature deep ribbing that makes them very decorative and unique! The flesh is dense, smooth, and richly flavored — perfect for pies, soups, and roasting. Known for its excellent storage qualities, Jarrahdale keeps for months after harvest without losing its flavor or texture.

Planting Guide:

  • Seed Starting: Sow seeds directly outdoors once soil has warmed to 70°F (21°C), or start indoors 3–4 weeks before the last frost.

  • Planting Depth: Sow seeds 1 inch deep.

  • Spacing: Space plants 3–4 feet apart in rows or mounds 6–8 feet apart — these vigorous vines need room to spread.

  • Sunlight: Full sun (6–8 hours minimum).

  • Soil: Rich, well-draining soil with added compost or aged manure.

  • Watering: Water deeply and consistently; avoid wetting the leaves to prevent mildew.

  • Days to Maturity: Around 100–110 days.

  • Harvesting: Harvest when the rind is fully gray-blue and firm, and the stem begins to dry. Cut with a few inches of stem attached for best storage life.
